Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® (AKA), an international service organization, was founded on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. in 1908. It is the oldest Greek-lettered organization, established by African American college-educated women. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® is comprised of more than 355,000 initiated members.
Mission
To cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards,
To promote unity and friendship among college women,
To study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature,
To maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of
“Service to All Mankind”.
Pi Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., was chartered on June 29, 1986, in Willingboro, New Jersey, during the administration of Ruth C. Easley, the 25th North Atlantic Regional Director.

Angela Airall, Zoila Airall, Pamela Anderson, Vivian Anderson, Monique Barnes, Annie E. Brown, Clementine Carroll, Gloria H. Dickinson, Cleola Dowdy, Constance Foster, Ahtoi Gibbons, Martha Gibbons, Cheryl Greer, Beverly Hutton, Elnora Johnson, Sally Landrum, Dolores Carney Leigh, Stephanie Pervall, Dorothy Rowe, Jacqueline Stephens, LaRuth Stewart, Shirley Wright and Michelle Walker-Davis.
Dr. Gloria H. Dickinson, former International Recording Secretary and former International Regional Director, served as the chapter's first President.
The chapter's current roster includes Diamond, Pearl, Golden, and Silver Star members who have held many consecutive years of sorority membership. Pi Mu Omega Chapter is the supervising graduate chapter for Zeta Sigma Chapter located at The College of New Jersey.

The Powerful Pi Mu Omega Chapter
Since its chartering, Pi Mu Omega Chapter has been a mainstay in Burlington County, New Jersey. The chapter has provided community service programs to improve the quality of life for women, children, and senior citizens. In Partnership with PMO People Motivating Others, Inc. (501c3), the chapter provides college scholarships to county graduating seniors seeking higher education.
